Honesty in Advertising

Do you love it when your purchase is as good or better than what you expected it to be?  I do.

In the midst of holiday celebrations and shopping, advertisements beckon us to make the best of our dollars and time. Promises are made. They promise that their store, recipe, book, toy, car, or whatever is better than any other. Often, those promises don’t live up to the hype.

I personally know of one promise that is better than any other, and it is ALWAYS KEPT.  It is the promise Jesus Christ, God’s Son, makes to every person without exclusion and it won’t cost you a cent.  God tells us of it in Romans 10:13–

“WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.”

Why should we take Him up on His offer?

1.   We have a need. (Romans 3:23—“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” and Romans 6:23—“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”)

2.   The only way to meet that need is through Jesus Christ. (John 14:6—“Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

3.   Guaranteed. (Romans 10:9-10—“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”)

I asked Jesus to forgive my sins and be my Savior and Lord when I was thirteen. Though there were times I have failed Him, Jesus (and Father God and Holy Spirit) have never failed me or given up on me.

I invite you to take Him up on His promise and experience the sweetest, most loving, and truest relationship you will ever find—better than any you can ever dream of.

Merry Christmas and God bless you!
