Balki Bartokomous (Bronson Pinchot—“Perfect Strangers”) modeled the “dance of joy” which my younger son and I continue to use in our celebrations. The young actress for Liberty Insurance laments totaling her car, “Brad”, but shares that she broke out in her “happy dance” when the insurance company bought her a new one.
Today, I do my own dance of joy and break out into a happy dance. Why?
The week before Christmas the doctor removed my stomach feeding tube which I had relied on for food and water for six months.
Two weeks ago, I ate (and swallowed) a hamburger.
Last week, I ate popcorn. (Seven months ago I could not swallow spit—literally.) The post-stroke healing and strengthening process continues, and every week there IS progress.
TODAY I went shopping with my husband WITHOUT my cane.
To God be the glory, great things He has done! He is continuing to do great things because He is faithful, and He loves you, me—everyone. He reaches out every day through His Son, Christ Jesus, to let us know we are not alone even in the darkest of times. Jesus is The Way. Try Him. Your discovery will lead to an eternal “dance of joy”.
God’s blessings,
Patty
