Did You See the Tree Walking Down the Street?

The contents of the envelope surprised me as much as seeing a tree pull up roots and walk down the street. A miracle arrived in the mail last week—totally from God’s heart. 83551 (1)

The letter with an enclosed check read, “It’s probably not often you get unexpected money from your health plan company. So why are you getting this rebate? The Affordable Care Act created some new rules for health plans. One of them is that we must spend at least 80 percent of your monthly premiums on direct medical and healthcare services… When our medical costs are lower…we return part of your premiums…”

So why is this a miracle you ask? This is the same company that denied payment of a diagnostic test the night I was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. While in and out of consciousness, suffering from an ischemic stroke, the doctors performed necessary procedures to keep me alive. Although my health insurance contract guaranteed payment for these emergency services, the company denied payment stating that they didn’t have to pay if they didn’t want to (based on a clause on the last page of their policy manual but not included in mine). The miracle in that situation was that the imaging company felt so badly, they wrote off the debt. Here, today, God had another wonderful blessing for me.

God’s blessings are new every morning. He know our needs—body, soul, and spirit. As we obey and follow Him, starting with a relationship with His Son—Christ  Jesus  (John 14:6, Romans 10:9-10), we can depend on Him to meet them. Sometimes the answers are small and quiet, and then sometimes they are dramatic. All reveal His Presence, His awareness of what we are going through, and His love.

Did you see the tree walking down the street?

Luke 6:38   “Give, and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Malachi 3:8-10    “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.  (9) “Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.   (10) “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Philippians 4:19  “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
